Observatory Overview & Framework
The Regional Observatory is one of the activities of the “Sustainable Empowerment” Project for Strengthening the roles of NGOs for sustainable development and climate action
Funded by the European Union and implemented by the Nag El Dar Foundation in Luxor Governorate, in partnership with Misr El Kheir Foundation, the Observatory contributes to strengthening governance, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing the participation of civil society organizations in decision-making and policy development.
The Observatory also supports monitoring and evaluation processes, while preparing periodic reports on the state of sustainable development at the local, regional, and national levels.
The Observatory aims to:
- Monitor the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals and climate action initiatives at the local level.
- Strengthen the role of civil society organizations as key drivers of development through knowledge generation, documentation of successful practices, and facilitating community dialogue.
Observatory Objectives
- Raising community awareness of sustainable development and climate action issues.
- Encouraging community participation and engaging citizens in local policymaking.
- Enhancing coordination and networking between civil society organizations, government entities, and the private sector.
- Producing knowledge through periodic reports and policy papers.
- Promoting transparency and accountability through digital platforms.
